PROTOCOL RULES

Etching = agreeing. Signing a payment through the checkout means you accept these rules. Don't agree? Don't sign.

0x01GENESIS

The Last Page ("the protocol") at beforeitlocks.xyz is a ledger of 1,000,000 slots. Each slot holds one message of up to 60 characters. Slot #000,001 is the genesis message. When the last slot is filled, the ledger locks.

By signing a payment through the checkout, or otherwise using the protocol, you accept these rules.

0x02WHO CAN ETCH

You must be 18 or older and legally able to accept these rules. Don't use the protocol where it's against the law that applies to you. Following your local rules on crypto is on you.

0x03WHAT A SLOT IS

A slot is the right to have your message shown in the next open position on the ledger. It is not a token, NFT, security, share or claim on any revenue, and it gives you no ownership of the protocol or anything in it. Slot numbers are assigned in the order payments confirm.

The counter shows how many slots remain. At zero, the ledger locks and nothing new is etched.

0x04PERMANENCE

Once etched, a message is never edited and never deleted from the ledger's records. Your payment lives on the Solana blockchain: public, permanent, and outside anyone's control, including ours.

The protocol's front-end runs on third-party infrastructure. We intend to keep it live, but we can't guarantee that the page, or any slot on it, stays online forever. "Locked forever" means that once the ledger is full, nothing new gets etched.

0x05CONTENT RULES

Rejected before you sign:

• links and web addresses;
• email addresses;
• phone numbers;
• slurs.

Also banned (slots can be hidden):

• doxxing: anyone's personal or identifying information, including your own;
• threats, harassment, or pushing violence or self-harm;
• any sexual content involving minors, or anything that sexualizes minors;
• illegal content, or content that infringes someone else's rights (including copyright and trademarks);
• impersonating a real person or project;
• scams, drainers, or trying to get people to send money or crypto anywhere.

Filters aren't perfect. Getting past the filter doesn't make a message allowed.

0x06ENFORCEMENT

A slot that breaks these rules or the law can be hidden from the page or shown behind a warning. Hidden slots stay in the ledger's records; they're just not displayed. We don't have to explain individual calls. Hidden slots are not refunded.

Anything connected to a payment on-chain stays on-chain, even if the slot is hidden from the page.

0x07PAYMENTS

Accepted tokens and prices are shown at checkout, and your wallet shows the exact amount before you sign.

Only payments signed through the protocol's checkout (the QR code or the wallet button) are recorded. The checkout attaches a unique reference that links your payment to your message. Anything sent to the protocol's wallet any other way (a typed or pasted address, an exchange withdrawal, the wrong token, or the wrong amount) is not recorded, can't be matched to a message, and is not refunded. Always use the checkout.

Network fees are paid by you.

0x08FINALITY

Every transaction is final. No refunds, ever, including hidden slots and payments that weren't recorded because they skipped the checkout. The chain doesn't do chargebacks, and neither does the protocol.

0x09PRIVACY

No names, no emails, no accounts, no KYC. What exists:

• your message, slot number and transaction details, including the paying wallet, all public on-chain and on the ledger;
• technical data our infrastructure providers routinely process to serve the page (such as IP addresses in server logs);
• in your own browser only, a short-lived note of an unfinished checkout, so a payment can still complete if you close the page early.

No ad trackers. Remember: a wallet is pseudonymous, not anonymous. Anything you etch is public forever.

0x0AFLAG A SLOT

To report a slot that breaks these rules, email contact@beforeitlocks.xyz. Include the slot number and what the problem is. We review reports and act where appropriate.

0x0BNO WARRANTIES

The protocol is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, there are no warranties of any kind, including that it will be uninterrupted, bug-free or online forever, or that any slot will be displayed.

0x0CLIABILITY

To the fullest extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for losses caused by blockchains, wallets, exchanges, RPC providers or other third parties. Our total liability for any claim is capped at what you paid for the slot the claim relates to.

0x0DYOUR KEYS, YOUR RESPONSIBILITY

You're responsible for what you etch and for your own wallet's security. Don't use the protocol to break the law or these rules, and only etch what you have the right to post.

0x0EUPGRADES

These rules may be upgraded. The version and date at the top show the latest. Upgrades apply to slots etched after the change.
